Play sound to phone speaker. I mean, doesn't it already go through the phone speaker? Re: Play sound to phone speaker. Is this option for when you are playing audio via the headphone jack i. Turning this on also turns off "Prefer Bluetooth". I am a "Waze Baby" but was surprised that the voice prompts on my iPhone 4S came out the regular phone speaker the one that goes by the ear rather than the much louder speakerphone speaker. I could barely hear the prompts.
Perhaps I missed a setting somewhere If I enable Bluetooth, then I get the prompts that way. AshBrad84 wrote: Is this option for when you are playing audio via the headphone jack i. Are you sure your speaker volume isn't just turned down? Unless you've changed your iPhone settings, the volume buttons on the side won't adjust Waze's volume unless Waze is giving a prompt.HOW TO ENABLE PLAY ON PHONE SPEAKER IN WAZE APP (IOS)
Try adjusting the volume while Waze is actually speaking. Most of the time, no sound.Malayalam reunion names
I have to set this option because im always on bluetooth and my phone connects to my car audio system. But i use this for phone calls purpose only and my car audio player is always on Radio function. Therefore without this option, i wont be able to hear any navigation sound.
I am now on Adroid 3. It use to work before this. I am using Xperia Z1 C with official Sony firmware on stock 4.
Any idea on this issue? I even checked with another user who is using Nexus 5, and same issue when Play sound to phone speaker is selected. Different car stereos act differently.
In my car, with Ford SYNC, even if I have my phone connected to the stereo via Bluetooth, as long as I don't have and haven't had it selected, Waze will announce over the phone speaker once you select Bluetooth Audio and then switch to something else, Waze doesn't make a sound until the car is next turned off and on.
In the rental I have this week, Chevrolet MyLink will not allow any sound over the phone if it's connected via Bluetooth to the audio system, even if it isn't and hasn't been selected as an audio source. Now, I don't have "play sound to phone speaker" on, and I don't have an Android device.
I'm just trying to offer some insight as to why others may or may not have the same experience as you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 2.
I was wondering about that. I don't have one, it is not offered grumble. Android Lollipop on a Galaxy 5s. So here is the story as verified on MY galaxy S5 : The setting in Waze settings named 'play sound to phone speaker serves one purpose. To enable sound to be routed to the ear phone jack while simultaneously disabling the phone's speaker. This only pertains to the app Waze.Waze: outsmarting traffic together. Hi all, First post here I think. Some things have changed for me recently, not the least of which is a new to me phone, so the issue which is also new to me could be caused by my recent changes.
Background: I use Waze on my daily commute to and from work. I know how to go; I'm just looking for the quickest way to go I presume this is a pretty common use of Waze. So in the past, I've had "Play sound to phone speaker" on whichever setting would not interrupt probably "off". Recently perhaps since I got my phoneif I have "Play sound to phone speaker" off, I don't hear Waze navigation at all, whether or not I'm in a call!Larchivio storico
If I have "Play sound to phone speaker" on, then I hear navigation fine if I'm not in a call. But if I am in a call, Waze navigation plays over the speakers, so I can't carry on the conversation! I'd really like the option to have Waze give me the navigation from the phone itself not over Bluetoothwhether or not I'm in a call And I think it used to work like that for me, with one of the "Play sound to phone speaker" setting.XDA Developers was founded by developers, for developers.

I had Waze on my old S6 and was able to configure waze to send turn by turn directions and alerts through the phone speaker even if the phone is BT connected to the car by configuring waze settings.
Now that I migrated to the S8, Waze will not put out any sound to the phone speaker or the car speakers whens BT connected. It is totally silent.
If not BT connected, it will speak through the phone. I tried the same procedure I used on the S6 to get the audio through the phone speaker.
Anyone have similiar problems and find a solution? Thanks in advance. I did some more experimentation. Odd I thought. Second, with the "Play sound to phone speaker" tuned off, and the phone BT connected to the car, if I put the audio source on the car to BT, the navigation voice does indeed go to the car speakers.
I still have not figured out how to force waze to send the navigation sounds through the phone speakers while the phone is BT connected. I prefer it go through the phone speakers, as I would like to set the car to other audio sources instead of BT. I'm having the same issue with Google Maps.
My S6 was able to send the sounds through the speaker instead of Bluetooth but it seems to longer be possible on the S The setting used to be in Google Maps but it's no longer there. Using voice commands in Waze can help keep your eyes on the road by enabling you to start navigation, report traffic conditions, and more using only your voice.
Voice commands can be enabled from the Settings menu in your Waze app. When voice commands are enabled, you can start one by pressing three fingers on the Waze screen or by waving your hand in front of the sensor on your phone.

Re: "Play sound to phone speaker" volume low. Waze 4. My Waze started giving me a VERy limited volume on my bluetooth about a week ago. I tried deleting the Waze cache both through the Apps tool and searching for cc tts. The volume remains unusable.
Getting Waze Alerts During a Phone Call
For now, I can work around it by setting the speaker on but that gets annoying when there are other people in the car. I use Google Hangouts for phone calls and Pandora. Both work fine with the bluetooth. After upgrading to the latest version, I started to have sound issues with the speaker being too quiet.
I tried and increased the volume as suggested above to maximum but little change. I contacted Waze support and they suggested clearing the cache cc tts and reinstalling but also this troubleshooting for bluetooth.
I think this is new since I remember setting it to "Prefer Bluetooth" which doesn't exist anymore at least on iOS. I reset it to "Device default" and my speaker volume is back to normal. Hope this helps. BTW, support was great. Responded in 5 minutes. I also found that the phone volume affects Waze's speaker volume on Nexus 5x. And on my phone, at least, I don't actually have to make a phone call; it's enough to start the dialer app.
The obvious question to me, then is: can't there be a more direct not to mention obvious way to adjust Waze's speaker volume while it's in use than to snake your way to Waze's settings, or to start the phone app? And if you do go to Waze's volume setting, wouldn't it be nice if it played a sound immediately upon moving the slider to you'd have some idea of the result without making your way back to somewhere Waze issues a sound now? Remember, folks, you might be in motion while needing to do this!
I think I found the solution. Change your sound setting to device the fault then exit Waze. Then start Waze and search for some address, any address. Have your finger ready on the volume up button. As soon as Waze starts to speak, press the volume up button. You will see that it was all the way down, for some reason that I don't know.
It only takes a minute to sign up. I love using the Waze App with my iPhone 5, except for one very annoying problem: while driving and Waze engaged, I listen to music on the radio, but I keep getting interruptions in the radio where the radio screen shows my phone name and phone number indicating I am calling myself. It happens often and only when I have Waze activated. I don't know if it is a switch on the phone or something with Waze.
I would like it to stop because it's very distracting and annoying. If you set it to "Play on phone speaker", then any alerts that come from Waze wont use your car's Bluetooth audio. As for all the settings, Device default generally treats Waze audio like Bluetooth music audio, where play as "Bluetooth phone call" uses your car's Bluetooth phone call function. Playing from phone speaker bypasses the car's Bluetooth function entirely, preventing it from playing Waze audio through your car's speakers.
